We are born equal

We are born equal

In India, boys and girls should learn expected and accepted behaviours so that attitudes can be shaped from an early age. The public education system is uniquely placed to influence and shape children’s understanding of gender stereotypes and roles. It has a responsibility to ensure that children have access to a rights-based, quality education, which is rooted in gender equality. Where women and men live in relationships built on cooperation and mutual respect, and no one is valued more or less just because they are a girl or boy.
