CORO isn’t just an organisation.

CORO is a movement.

The laws of our land envisage equality to all, but the weight of tradition leads marginalised citizens to accept caste, class and gender discrimination as their unchangeable fate. Changing this unquestioning acceptance is critical to bring about change.

CORO steps up to champion the cause of the marginalised, by shining a light on the equality of people as envisaged under our Constitution.

This awareness helps empower individuals to challenge discriminatory and casteist practices and become agents of positive change in their circle.

CORO’s capacity-building programs spark a profound societal impact, enabling these communities to transcend the constraints that once held them back.

CORO’s MOTTO:

Giving a Voice to All

Our Belief

Our core belief rests in the extraordinary potential of grassroots initiatives. Our programs are meticulously designed to empower individuals hailing from India’s most marginalised and oppressed segments.

Our Philosophy

Central to our approach is the ‘bottom-up’ philosophy, a powerful strategy that begins at the grassroots level, empowering individuals within their communities to drive meaningful change from within.

Result

By fostering individual growth and collective action, this approach generates organic and sustainable transformations that resonate throughout society.

CORO’s Pillars:

Strengthening Voices, leaving an indelible mark on communities

GRASSROOTS LEADERSHIP

CORO’s leadership training identifies individuals with leadership traits, educates them about their rights, and equips them to propagate this awareness within their communities. The training also assists them in navigating the system to access grants and aid earmarked for them by the government. Thus, our leaders become catalysts for change within their communities..

Youth Empowerment:

By involving young individuals in meaningful activities and providing them with opportunities for personal and leadership development, CORO nurtures a generation of changemakers who are actively involved in shaping their communities.

Women Empowerment

CORO facilitates the coming together of women from marginalised, low-income communities, enabling them to collectively overcome domestic abuse and other challenges. This transformative effort not only enhances their personal safety but also nurtures a strong sense of leadership within each of them.

Gender sensitisation

Through the implementation of gender education and awareness programs in schools, CORO proactively addresses mindsets and behaviours from an early age, cultivating a culture of equality and respect among the next generation.

Equal access to natural resources

Promoting equitable access to natural resources, CORO’s initiatives strive to ensure fair and equal distribution across communities, while also advocating for sustainable management and conservation practices, fostering both fairness and environmental responsibility. Our efforts aim to create a harmonious balance between community needs and the preservation of vital resources.
