Right To Pee (RTP)
In the bustling heart of Mumbai, the program advocates for the establishment of free, hygienic, and secure public urinals exclusively for women.
Who Does It Benefit?
The program addresses a crucial need in the city’s stark reality, where only 1 out of every 3 public toilet seats is designated for women. Women face unequal pricing, being charged more than men for the same amenities. Moreover, the state of public toilets exacerbates the problem, often marred by unsanitary conditions and a lack of safety. This program aims to rectify these fundamental violations of dignity, health, and equal access to public spaces that custodians of urban sanitation exhibit remarkable apathy towards.
The RTP Approach
The Right To Pee (RTP) campaign emerged as a unified force, rallying for the establishment of clean, free, and secure public urinals for women in Mumbai. Our collective of members operates on two fronts: confronting the insensitive system head-on and collaborating with the government to drive meaningful transformation.
